About

Built for privacy and precision, then kept free

ReduceSize Online exists because the web’s file tools got stuck in a bad pattern: upload everything to someone else’s server, promise sizes that were never true, and wrap it all in ads. Every decision here is the response to that pattern.

The tool is your device, not our server

Since 2019, every mainstream browser can decode, resize and re-encode whole image libraries on its own. JavaScript engines run a full PDF renderer, page manipulator and cryptographic encryptor faster than many server fleets finished the upload step. We treat that as the product, not the fallback: all eleven tools — from the 20 KB compressor to AES-256 PDF protection — execute entirely client-side.

The consequence is a privacy model with nothing to breach. There is no bucket where your ID scans “temporarily” live, no log with your file names, no retention policy to trust. Open the page, unplug the network, and the tools keep working.

Honest states, measured bytes

Compression is a physical trade: bytes against detail against dimensions. Pretending otherwise is how bogus claims survive — “exact size every time” is untrue for any source where the detail fights the cap. Our engine searches candidate encodings, measures the winners, and reports what actually happened: target met, best effort with the reason, or no gain for already-optimised files. Every trade-off (format changes, resolution steps, PNG flattening) is a visible, user-chosen action.

Designed to be quiet

A trustworthy tool should not shout. The interface uses a restrained token system (one accent green, one electric blue, monospaced numerals for every measured figure), dark and light themes with no flashy gradients-as-content, and result cards that read like lab notes rather than celebration banners.

Free, and staying that way

No accounts. No paywall on the engines. No “pro” tier that secretly gates the features that matter. Our static hosting costs are trivial — this site is one of the cheapest products on the internet to run, and it is funded as such: no data collection, no ad networks, no tracking pixels, at launch and without a change of discipline planned.

About-page questions

Who runs ReduceSize Online?

An independent team of engineers and designers, funded by nothing but time and maintained as a genuinely free product. There is no investor growth logic, which is why there are no ads, no pushy upsells and no accounts collecting your email.

How can the tools be free with no server bills?

Because the compute is yours: your browser does all processing on your device, so our hosting bill is just the cost of serving static pages — one of the cheapest things on the internet to run.

What are the plans for the product?

More of the same, executed carefully: better engines (higher-fidelity scans, smarter searches), more honest guides, and format coverage where it meets real limits. We will not add accounts, tracking pixels or uploads to chase growth.
