Every image tool, in your browser

One engine, honest semantics, zero uploads. Pick a target-size tool for a known cap or a use-case shortcut below — each shares the same measured result cards, batch queue, comparison slider and ZIP downloads.

Image size questions

How do I reduce image file size?

Drop the image in and set a target. The compressor re-encodes at a series of quality levels, keeps the best result that fits under your cap, and shows the measured before → after on the card. JPG, PNG and WebP are accepted, up to 24 files per batch.

How can I reduce the MB size of a photo?

Use the custom target field and switch its unit to MB — presets cover 20 KB up to 2 MB, and the custom value takes anything beyond that. A phone photo of 3–10 MB usually lands under 1 MB with no visible change at screen size.

How do I reduce image size without losing quality?

Bytes always cost something, but the engine spends them carefully: it re-encodes at the highest quality that still fits your cap, so a small reduction is visually identical. A resolution step is used only when quality alone cannot reach the target, and the card says when that happened.

How can I resize an image without losing quality?

Use the width and height limiter, which caps the pixel dimensions while preserving the aspect ratio, so nothing stretches. Resizing does discard pixels, so a large cut changes fine detail — but a sensible downscale stays sharp on screen.

How can I compress an image to a specific KB or MB size?

Type the number into the custom target, or pick a preset page: 20 KB, 50 KB, 100 KB, 200 KB or 1 MB, each with the limit already selected. If the cap is out of reach for that image, you get the smallest workable result and the reason — never a false success.

How do I reduce the size of a JPG or JPEG?

A JPEG is re-encoded at the quality level that fits your target, and the output stays a JPEG. For a large reduction the file is also scaled down a step at a time, because no amount of quality tweaking alone closes a 20× gap.

How do I reduce the size of a PNG?

PNG is already compressed, so re-encoding it at the same size often gains little. The tool can scale the image down, or offer a WebP version that keeps transparency, and flattening a transparent PNG to JPEG happens only if you choose it explicitly.

Why can’t my image reach the requested file size?

Because the detail in that particular image fights the cap. Fine texture, noise and sharp edges are expensive to store, and some images simply cannot hit 20 KB and stay readable. The result is then a best-effort file with the smallest size that was achieved, plus the reason.

Can I reduce image dimensions and file size together?

Yes. Set the width or height limiter and a target at the same time: the engine resizes first, then compresses to the cap, keeping the aspect ratio intact. That is the combination most form portals need.

How do I reduce photo size on an iPhone?

Open the page in Safari, tap Choose files and pick the photo from your library, set the target and compress. The result downloads straight to your Files with its measured size in the name — no app to install and no upload to wait for.

Which images can be compressed here?

JPG, PNG and WebP, up to roughly 40 megapixels each. GIF, SVG and video are not supported, and a batch holds 24 files. Anything larger or in another format needs a different tool.

How do I manually reduce an image file size?

In any editor, you would resize the canvas or re-export at a lower quality — and then guess whether you hit the number you needed. This tool automates the same search: it measures every candidate, keeps the best one under your cap and shows you the exact output size.

Same engine behind every tool

Every tool above runs the same client-side compressor: quality-first re-encode, optional pixel-dimension limiter, format moves that are always explicit (transparent PNGs are never flattened silently), and result states that tell the truth —target met, best effort with the reason, or no gain when the file is already optimised.
